Whether you’re a traditional or digital scrapbooker, iNSD is one of the best weekends of the year. Saturday, May 2nd is inter-National Scrapbooking Day but the celebrations have already begun. Many online festivities and sales are already underway and some will stretch into the coming week. What a great weekend for all scrapbookers across the world.

We should celebrate all the photos, papers, embellishments and moments of inspired creativity. But most importantly, we need to capture the stories that make our hearts happy every day. This weekend makes for a special time to concentrate on preserving, documenting, and presenting our personal or family history through photographs and written narratives (journaling). This is also a therapeutic way to look back on precious, cherished and sometimes even difficult moments in our lives.

Let’s get crafty and make something beautiful, one layout or card at a time! Perhaps reach out and invite someone to learn more about the art of scrapbooking. This is also a fabulous time to discover new techniques or tools. We should all take at least a few moments to express ourselves and create beautiful, custom designs. Whether you’re creating a masterpiece or just organizing your stash, take time to enjoy the magic of memory keeping.

Above all else, celebrate this special weekend by preserving your memories and photos for future generations to enjoy. Future generations can learn from our perseverance (and mistakes) to make a better life for themselves. Our memories are the key not only to the past but to the future!
