Ready To Take The Next Step?
Welcome to week 2 in my Tuesday Tip Day series!
There are many different types of scrapbooking software programs out there that you can use. I personally think you can scrapbook with a multitude of programs…but there are some types of software programs that just make scrapbooking a LOT more fun and easier once you know how you use them! You can read more about a variety of the software programs available on my “Resources” Page.
Today I use Adobe Photoshop Elements (PSE). I highly recommend that most beginner scrapbookers use either Adobe Photoshop (PS) or Adobe Photoshop Elements (PSE). That’s not to say there’s anything bad about the other software programs – it’s just once you learn to use PS/PSE, you’ll wonder why you ever used anything else!
Adobe PS hands down offers the most options and allows you to grow the most as a digital scrapbooker. In my opinion, PSE offers enough of the same capabilities for a fraction of the cost. And honestly, I truly believe that PSE is sufficient for the “average” scrapbooker. Especially as you’re getting started, PSE (again in my opinion) may be easier to learn.
And you could always upgrade later if you feel a more robust set of tools would be a benefit. I don’t receive any financial compensation for recommending them – I just really love the software and think if you want to preserve your family’s photos and memories – it’s well worth the investment of both money & time to learn.
Most of the available “graphics” programs may seem a bit daunting when you first get started, but once you learn them you will realize just how much more creative freedom and control you have to create almost anything. Truly, you have no idea how much more you can do digitally than you ever could with paper and glue.
The Single Most Important Learning Tip!
I believe it is very important to spend a good amount of time learning whatever digital scrapbooking program you choose before starting your first digital scrapbook page. Not only will you be able to edit your photos in amazing ways and create those stunning layouts – but you’ll likely use it for many other things also!
